AerCapTY Aviation Academy is designed to attract teenagers who have a keen interest in an aviation career and gives them an opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the industry.
This exciting week-long Aviation Academy introduces TY students to various aspects of the aviation industry through a series of engaging talks and workshops. Students have the opportunity to meet pilots, engineers and air traffic controllers, and to learn about the business and finance aspects of the industry. The week also includes a trip to a live aircraft maintenance facility and a chance to fly the B737NG Simulator with an airline pilot.
The week will close with a visit to AerCap, when students will have an opportunity to network with recent graduates of UL’s Aeronautical Engineering who are now working on-site in AerCap & SES. This informal gathering should result in good dialogue and help the students solidify their career plans whatever they may be. There will be a brief presentation on AerCap, the world’s largest aircraft leasing company and how many career options are possible within the sector.
