Its’ Early Years

Our CFM56-3 was used on a Boeing 737 Classic aircraft for the full duration of its lifetime.

Arriving in Shannon Aviation Museum, the CFM56-3 became a big hit with all of our intrigued museum visitors, getting to see all the ins and outs of a real jet engine that actually flew for career!

CFM56-3 International

The CFM56-3 is a Two-Spool High-Bypass Turbofan Engine
The CFM56 engine, and all of its variants, are the most used turbofan engines in the world.
The normal CFM56-3 had about 24,000 pounds of thrust, however, due to modifications to fit to the 737, the by-pass ratio on our engine had to be reduced, therefore decreasing the total thrust to just over 20,000 pounds worth
CFM International, the company who produced the 56-3, is a French-American owned company, owned by General Electric (US) and Safran Aircraft Engines (France)
