Monerai Glider

History:

Monerai is a homebuilt kit sailplane designed and sold in the early and mid 1908’s. Designed by John T. Monnett Experimental Aircraft Inc of Wisconsin, USA. 

The wings are all aluminium while the truss is steel, faired with a fiberglass shell and molded canopy.

Monerai Glider

  • Our Monerai Glider was built in the 1980's
  • It had a top speed of 193 km/h (104 knots)
  • It had a surface ceiling of 46,000 feet
  • The flaps on a Monerai glider were manufactured so they were able to extend to 90 degrees
  • The Monerai is just over 19 feet in length, and has a 36 foot wingspan!
  • Its' sink rate was impressive, only sinking 167ft/min (0.85m/s)
